Project Overview

Charm Properties required a comprehensive fire alarm system for their 5 Units on Neath Road in Hafod, Swansea. The H3 Group was contracted to design and install a system that would ensure maximum safety and compliance with the highest industry standards.

Objectives

• To install a reliable and efficient fire alarm system covering all 5 units.
• To ensure the system meets NSI Gold and BAFE standards.
• To provide comprehensive coverage across the units.

Installation Details

The installation included the following components:

• 5 2 Zone Zeta ID2 Control Panels
• 25 Optical Smoke Detectors with Sounder/Beacon & Base: These detectors provide early warning of smoke and fire, with integrated sounders and beacons for audible and visual alerts.
• 12 Manual Call Points with Hinged Protective Covers: Allows occupants to manually trigger the alarm in case of an emergency.
• 10 12v 9ah Batteries: Ensures a robust backup and the system remains operational during power outages.

Implementation

The H3 Group’s team of certified technicians carried out the installation over a period of two weeks. The process involved:

1. Site Survey and Planning: Detailed assessment of the property to determine optimal placement of detectors and call points.
2. Installation: Systematic installation of control panels, detectors, call points, and batteries
3. Testing and Commissioning: Rigorous testing to ensure all components function correctly and meet NSI Gold and BAFE standards.
4. Training: Providing training to Charm Properties’ staff on the operation and maintenance of the fire alarm system.

Results

The installation was completed successfully and ahead of schedule, with the system meeting all NSI Gold and BAFE requirements. Charm Properties now benefits from a state-of-the-art fire alarm system that enhances the safety of their property and its occupants.
