Project Overview
We were recently called to St Davids School in Mumbles for a CCTV system upgrade. Initially, we had installed a 4-camera system at the school in winter 2023, providing coverage to most strategic areas within the school. An analysis of the site indicated that one camera within the system needed to be upgraded. Additionally, the installation of an extra camera necessitated upgrading the network video recorder from a 4-channel to an 8-channel recorder, with future expansion in mind.
Installation Process
The installation took place during the school summer holiday to avoid disrupting the day-to-day operations of the school. Our engineers ran over 50 meters of Cat5 cable, as the system is IP-based. We utilized the Dahua range of products, including:
- Dahua 8 Channel Network Video Recorder
- 2 Dahua 5MP Turret Dome MultiColour IP Cameras
The installation was straightforward and provided the necessary additional coverage and upgrade within the CCTV system.
